We first tuned the 1.4 back in October last year in Spain (where we also started doing the 1.4 T-JEt ECU's soon to be used in the Abarth) and found it a nice easy one to work on (easier than the 1.3 even!).

We weren't looking to get the last 1bhp out of this car, its not the point of the excersize with it, we wanted mid range torque and economy.

With that in mind we had a few sessions on the dyno and obtained a much smoother delivery of torque through the mid range and increased the power by 10lb ft at 2,000 rpm bring the power band down the rev range too. This has not only imporved the fuel consumption by an amazing 8mpg on this car (38mpg average to 46mpg) but has also knocked around a second off the 0-60 as the torque is there when you change up. Throttle response is greatly improved too as has mid range acceleration.
We have many different mapping settings we have developed on these but can't top the 46mpg!
